Going Cocktailian at Boneyard Bistro

Ludobites 6.0 is located in the Valley for this run. After dinner last week, LA/ OC Foodie, H.C., convinced us to head over three blocks over to Boneyard Bistro. I wasn’t really in the mood to say goodbye after a great meal and though I am not into beer, I decided to go. Well, I was quite surprised. Yes, Boneyard Bistro has over 40 taps but they just launched a cocktail program. Apparently they’re really into whiskey and their menu reflects that. Half the page of their whiskey list was bourbon. The Minty was a happy camper.

Manhattan

Boot Hill

I ordered the Boot Hill (Fighting Cock Bourbon, apple jack, lemon juice). For $10, it wasn’t bad. I preferred their classic Manhattan.

Bourbon Daisy

The Bourbon Daisy was very fruity and light. It wasn’t correctly balanced but again, at $10, I guess we couldn’t complain too much. It seemed more like a tiki drink with the bright red maraschino cherry. Damn, was I missing Luxardo cherries.

French 75

We loved the stemware for the cocktails. The glasses were wide and very cool to look at. This French 75 could have used a bit more Bols Genever.

Overall, I’d return but stick to the classics for now. I tasted a Sazerac later and it was very nice. And looked who joined us after service? Ludo enjoyed his La Paloma made with tequila.
