Happy Hour at Monsieur Marcel
In the last few years of doing food crawls, I’ve made some great friends. One of whom invited me to happy hour, shopping and dinner last Friday. We decided the Grove would be a great place to meet up. I wanted to try the fondue place but it turned out their happy hour ended at 6 so we went over to Monsieur Marcel and managed to order wine and food with minutes to spare. Their happy hour is Monday-Friday, 3-7 p.m.
We ordered the pate de campagne and the chorizo to share. We liked the sausage more but I think I just don’t like pate de campagne as much as plain liver pate. Campagne is just not as spreadable. They automatically give you a basket that has great French bread, crackers and olive bread. We each also had a glass of wine which was 50% off from their wine list. It was a great deal because we got out of there right around $20.
I enjoyed our brief respite which gave us fuel for shopping. I’d like to come again and maybe grab a salad and a glass of wine for lunch.

apparently pate de campagne is the one made with other beef bits. it’s not just liver so it’s not very spreadable. I will have to avoid in the future.
