Las Vegas: Estiatorio Milos
I’ve been hearing about this Greek restaurant for a while now. The original is in Canada (though they’ve now expanded back to the motherland of Greece) as well as New York and Miami. We were in between pool parties and wanted a bite to eat before heading up to the Cosmo pool.
It’s not hard to notice the fresh seafood laid out near the kitchen. I spied the huge stone crab claws and immediately wondered if I could get any but the market price was a touch out of my price range. Still, it was fun to look at the the still very much alive lobsters (check out this video I shot) and dream of ordering all that seafood.
If I had known Milos did such a fantastic sashimi plate, I would have eschewed Blue Ribbon the night before. Our server advised us to save the scallops for last. He was right. The sweet, rich scallops were like dessert. The tuna though was really amazing. I never think much of regular tuna but this dish was a stunner. I could have ordered the large plate and been happy. We shared the small version which is good for two people.
There were a couple of Italians at the next table. They said they were in town for the pizza convention. They ate at Milos almost every day of their stay. And their favorite was the fried calamari. I was thinking about getting the grilled but they insisted on the fried.
Well, it was good but not my thing. I realized I wanted marinara sauce. Probably would have been insulting to drown the lightly battered calamari. Ah well.
One of the recommended dishes is the Milos tower which are fried eggplant and zucchini. Oh damn, remember how I stated I wasn’t into fried stuff. Yeah. I did have a few chips dipped in the sauce but we realized quickly we would never make a dent in the huge tower. I’d recommend this for a group of four or more.
My friend who’s in love with Milos had told me to get the grilled octopus. It is an absolute must. It’s so tender yet meaty at the same time. I was much happier with this after all the fried stuff.
Our veggies had arrived. The mixed mushrooms and the Swiss chard with spinach caught my eye right away. We loved the mushrooms grilled in butter. The shitake mushrooms were particularly flavorful.
I can’t wait to go back. I’m guessing this will be my new favorite restaurant at the Cosmo.

I’m so excited to read your review! I hadn’t heard anything about this place, so I went for a slice of Secret Pizza last weekend. LOL.

Ha! Secret Pizza isn’t bad but definitely not a “nice sit down” place. Milos is in the corner, kind of non-descript stone entrance. But it’s a huge restaurant. I would say much bigger than Jaleo, Blue Ribbon, China Poblano, DOCG. The only ones I haven’t peeked at (space wise) are Scarpetta and Comme Ca.
