SGV: Little Sheep Hot Pot
My family celebrated Lunar New Year this year with a couple of activities including hot pot at Little Sheep. Located in the giant supermall on the corner of Del Mar and Valley, Little Sheep is on the second level. I previously have had hot pot only in a few places in the San Gabriel Valley. To me, it’s a casual thing. You cook and eat and probably order more to cook and eat as you enjoy hanging out with your friends and family.
Little Sheep along with others in the SGV has made it hip to cook hot pot. The restaurant is modern and the plating of the raw meats and vegetables can be considered very artistic.
We opted to get the yin yang hot pot which includes both spicy and non-spicy broths.
I marked off a few things including lean beef and lean pork to cook plus a mess of vegetables, tofu and some seafood and innards including pork kidney.
My favorites were the fish, tofu skin, frozen tofu (it changes the texture) and greens. I found trying to cook smaller stemmed mushrooms difficult.
We probably didn’t need to add to our order but we ended up getting an additional plate of rib eye. The thinly sliced meat was well marbled and different from the lean meats we had early. It was also quite good but we were near bursting from drinking some of the soup.
Although now that I think about it, we probably didn’t need the rice either. One of these days, I’ll learn to go carb free entirely.
Now I’m wondering about the other hot pot places in the SGV. I am curious about the individual hot pot places.

My Mom buys Little Sherp take out and gets extra raw sliced meats and seafood from the Korean market and we feast at home! Great for cold California winter nights!

Is this the same Sheep hot pot that is also on Garvey in Monterey Park? I love that place! So tasty.

Might not be. I don’t see it listed as a location. http://www.littlesheephotpot.com/chinese-food-restaurants

I’ve done some research. The one you’re referring to has changed its name to Hot Pot Hot Pot. Probably to avoid copyright from the chain.
