Mid-City: Stir Market Now Open

Stir Market on Beverly Boulevard has been opened a little more than a month now. Touted as a food hall, the space encompasses a wine bar, deli case, restaurant and market place.

I wanted to check it out as a casual week-day dinner option. We were seated near the wine bar and enjoyed rapid service. I opted for craft beer instead of wine since currently Stir Market only has beer and wine.

We shared the Merguez sausage flatbread and crispy pig tails to start. I loved the pig tails and ate them like chicken wings (which is one of the Minty’s favorite things, ever). My dining companion felt the flat bread was a little dry and used some of the Greek yogurt sauce we later got with our entree to help things along.

Stir Market has a couple of “European Rotisserie Plates” which includes Provencal Chicken and the now famous Instagram-worthy porchetta. We decided to try the chicken. It comes with one sauce but you can order more. We chose the lemon Greek yogurt and salsa verde. I really liked the chicken with the salsa verde. Other sauces include ancho chili harrissa and savory mustard.

The chicken also comes with seasonal roasted veggies. This evening included carrots and potatoes. We also ordered Brussels sprouts with bacon (not shown) as an additional side. What’s great about Stir Market is you can get this chicken over salad or a rice bowl if you don’t want an entree.

I’d like to come back to try the charcuterie plank or maybe just get the duck liver pate. I wouldn’t mind also trying the charred whole prawns, sausage plank, burger and of course that famous porchetta. I’d like to sit at the wine bar next time and get to know the locals coming in. Stir Market seems like it’ll do well as that go-to neighborhood spot.
