Reseda: Getting Sri Lakan Food at Curry Leaf

Recently I found a small buffet called Curry Leaf in Reseda. I really enjoy Sri Lankan food and have done a crawl before in the Valley. I’m glad to have found another spot. I’m adding another gem to restaurants to try in the Valley.

The small restaurant is located in a strip mall, like many of LA’s great restaurants. The buffet looks more inviting as the various curries are laid in trays lined with fresh leaves.

Since I pretty much eat everything, I had a bit of everything. I quickly found favorites despite some super spicy dishes.

It turned out I really enjoyed the veggies more. Some of the meat dishes could stray to being a little bit dried out but an extra ladle-ful of sauce kept everything groovy. The chicken was a particular favorite.

My second plate featured more veggies including the eggplants, beats and peppers. Curry Leaf put out some rice but I couldn’t resist another string hopper, those lovely discs of bundled up noodles. You can use it as a wrap or some just tear it (knife and fork it) into pieces to accompany the curries.
