North Hollywood: Getting Chinese Food at Pho 77 Asian Kitchen
While in North Hollywood, we found ourselves at Pho 77 Asian Kitchen for a quick bite before a theatre performance. I already had really awesome pho for lunch earlier in the day but luckily they had a decent selection of Chinese food. I suspected the family that owns it was trying to hit all the foodie wants because they also had Japanese sushi and rolls.
We started with wor wonton soup. The wontons were a bit of a disappointment but the soup itself was nice. It was chock full of veggies and shrimp.
My friend wanted the shrimp and broccoli which as you can imagine is a typical Chinese stir-fry. Surprisingly, it wasn’t too heavy on the sauce. The veggies were fresh.
Shrimp seemed to be the theme of the evening as we got the combo noodles. The chow mein had tender beef, shrimp and chicken. I probably could have done with just beef since that was the best part of the dish.
Pho 77 occupies a huge corner of the strip mall. I’m eyeing the tacos place next door if I’m ever in the area again for a show.
