San Diego: Happy Hour at Cantina Mayahuel
After hitting up Polite Provisions for an event for Bartenders Weekend, we walked across the street to Cantina Mayahuel for happy hour. We were going to eat at Soda and Swine but once the magic words of happy hour were uttered, we beelined it over.
We started with guacamole, chips and salsa. The guac was very fresh and within seconds just mere suggestions of green smears in the bowl.
I don’t really know what makes me tick but I do know I need/ want veggies if I see them (which is very often). So I got a Caesar salad. This was your basic Caesar with good lettuce and probably just a little too much dressing but I didn’t mind.
The main event were the happy hour tacos. For $7, you get three tacos. I opted for carnitas of the limited three choices (steak, chicken, pork– shrimp was extra). These were also gobbled up quickly.
After our meal, we were ready to sip on the house tequila, Don Lorenzo.
