Chinatown: Crab Louie at the Lobsta Shack

Recently I checked out the Lobsta Shack in Chinatown. It’s always good to see food trucks go brick and mortar.

I was in a soup and salad type mood so I went for the clam chowder and Crab Louie. Friends had the lobster bisque (not shown), lobster roll, lobster tempura and lobster mac and cheese.

For the lobster roll, you can choose between the hot butter or cold mayo versions. I would always get butter if I can since I just enjoy hot foods more. It looked like a decent amount of lobster to me but my friend said she could have used more.

My friend got her lobster bisque before me and I didn’t get my chowder until later. It was okay with me. I have to say the service is super nice and they ended up getting me a bowl instead of the cup I ordered.

I probably would have liked bigger pieces of clams but otherwise, it’s a very filling bowl.

The lobster tempura was quickly gobbled and gone. I wondered how this would fare in between a sandwich bun…

My Crab Louie was very fresh with lots of greens and fresh veggies. It had the right amount of crab and was quite pretty. I probably could have used a tad more dressing and maybe a squeeze of lemon.

We all agreed the mac and cheese could have been cheesier. There was another mournful observation there could have been more lobster.

I would be interested in coming back to buy whole crabs and pounds of shrimp.
