Las Vegas: Pizza at Otto Enoteca Pizzaria

Brussels sprouts pizza
On my last trip to Las Vegas, we stopped by Otto Enoteca Pizzaria at the Venetian for lunch. I always love Mario Batali concepts and thought pizza and salad sounded like a great lunch.
After scanning the list, we decided on the Brussels sprouts pizza with proscuitto and preserved lemon. It looked awesome but when I picked up a slice I realized there was too much lemon juice and so the slice was unwieldy. Worst, it was floppy. I couldn’t properly fold it in half for a satisfying bite. Sure, the mozzarella and the other ingredients were good but I felt it should have been baked just a tad longer or they could use less lemon.

arugula salad
On the other hand, the arugula salad with shaved parmigiano cheese was perfect. We did add a dash of extra olive oil but you could tell the greens were fresh and the cheese was high quality.

veal and ricotta meatballs
I also wanted meatballs and asked if we could just get the meatballs on the side from the meatballs and spaghetti but it turns out Otto has a meatballs entree. So we ordered the veal and ricotta meatballs which comes on a bed of polenta. Perfect. Our server said these meatballs were better than the spaghetti and meatballs anyway.

broccoli rabe
I try to get as much veggies in as possible and especially while I’m traveling. We got a side of sauteed broccoli rabe which I greatly enjoyed. So perhaps next time I’ll try a different pizza but everything else was good. My friend did point out the hot food was served more on the lukewarm side so there is that. Still, it’s not a bad stop if you’re at the Venetian.
