After dinner at Red O in Santa Monica, we stopped into Meat on Ocean for a nightcap. They are owned by the same group that has the Watergrill so the furnishings are very similar.
We sat at the huge bar and I perused the font-crazy menu. I zeroed in on the drink with grapefruit and ordered the Accidental Crossing. My friend had the Hereford with bourbon. Our two brightly colored drinks were so perfect for a bar by the beach. Except it was at night. Still, very festive!
I liked my drink but opted to get just Nikka Coffey Grain Japanese whisky next. My friend enjoyed her drink so she had another Hereford.
Hereford – bourbon, tarragon and elderflower cordial, lemon
Accidental Crossing – London dry gin, Cocchi Rosa, pink grapefruit cordial, lemon, orange blossom essense
I want to come back to try the food. I love a good steakhouse.

Just out of curiosity, how was the Red O? Worth it?

Red O SM is in a good location and I did enjoy my dinner with friends there. The staff is very nice. It’s good for out of town guests who want booze with their tacos.
