The first Los Angeles Rum Festival is coming Friday, September 9 to the Majestic in Downtown Los Angeles. It’s produced by the Rum Lab which organizes many rum festivals all overt the US including San Francisco, Chicago, New York and many more. I attended the California Rum Festival in 2019 in San Francisco.

So far quite a few brands will be showcased. I’ve very excited for Holmes Cay, Chairman’s Reserve, Smith and Cross, Ron Colon Salvadoreno, Rhum Clement, the Rones de Mexico (the rums of Mexico), Kuleana, Rum Bar, Rhum JM, Angostura, Saint James, Worthy Park and so many more. Additional brands will be announced soon.
Plus there are some seminars I’m excited for including Cane Juice is the Future of Rum (VIP invitation only), Back to Sipping Rum presented by the Rummelier, Exploring the Dynamic Solera Process and Hawaiian Rum, History and Production. There’s also a black velvet painting speaker and a more comprehensive rums from Mexico presentation. Charanda, anyone?
In addition to the Fest on Friday, there are a few events leading and following the show. Tiki by the Sea will take over Hotel June for a few days and the closing party is at Tonga Hut in North Hollywood. Stay tuned for more party news (pre-party/ opening!).
