Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America Convention in Las Vegas, April 8-10

The 71st Annual Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) Convention and Exposition heads to Las Vegas April 8-10. I attended last year in Orlando and am very excited to check out the convention again this year. Held at Caesar’s Palace, the 3-day convention includes events, competitions and  and wine and spirits tastings.

One of my favorite activities at conventions and cocktail weeks are competitions. I had fun judging last year’s Hoptails Mixology comeptition. There are a couple of other competitions worth checking out including Call for Cocktails and the Wholesalers Iron Mixologist competition.

Aroma Coma by Ro Patel, Sling Bar Company

• 2 oz Ty Ku Coconut nigori sake
• .50 gin
• .75 jasmine syrup
• 1 oz lime juice
• roasted sesame seeds and oil for garnish

Shake all except seeds and oil. Strain into a glass with ice. Float sesame seeds and oil for garnish.
