Tapas, not Topless: Mediterraneo
“Let’s go for tapas.”
“Topless?”
“No, tapas! Small plates!”
I don’t know how many times I’ve heard this misunderstood bit of conversation. But I went for topless, er tapas Sunday night at Mediterraneo in Hermosa Beach.

The 8 of us did a fantastic job tackling the menu and ordered almost everything. And since it was Sunday, it was half-priced sangria to boot.

I always tell people that dolmas are my drunk food. They are the perfect combination of enough oil to coat your stomach and carbs to get you going. These were plump though a bit salty.

I loved the spanikopita! Perfectly flakey and lots of spinach.

I enjoyed the meatier dishes though the sausage and steak never made it down my end of the table. I was content though with the grilled shrimp and meatballs.
The next time I’m in the area, I know where to go topless. I mean, tapas.
