Mac and Cheese Addiction

I’m not one of those people who has to order mac and cheese everywhere. Sure, I enjoy it but I don’t crave it. I have watched the addictions of friends grow exponentially in the last few years. They have to order it every time they see it on the menu. “Oh, really? They have mac and cheese at XXX.”  Not again. Oh no, not again.

I have yet to visit Mac and Cheeza but I’m sure it’s coming soon. Who wouldn’t want to choose between a baby portion to vats of mac and cheese to consume, all the while being able to customize it to your heart’s content? Hey, why didn’t I think of this idea? Is there a mac and cheese truck? I can almost believe there is going to be one soon.

In the meantime, I did try a pretty good mac and cheese last week at the Mixing Room inside the JW.

It doesn’t beat my all-time favorites but it had the slightest hint of truffle oil (as requested, it can be served without), a nice crust, not-too-mushy noodles and a light cheese flavor. I really hate either too creamy macs or too dry macs. This one was just about right.

“Hey, they have mac and cheese, do you want to order it?”

Oh yes, again. Sure, again.
