One Bowl Meals: Cham, Lemongrass & Ramenya

Despite my many recent multi-course meals, there’s nothing like a simple one-bowl meal.

Recently, I tried out Cham for the first time and had some happy return visits to Lemongrass and Ramenya.

pork bun mi with grilled shrimp

At Lemongrass, I really wish they had a combo bun mi. My favorite is pork, shrimp and eggrolls. We ended up getting eggrolls as our appetizer and then I got the pork bun mi and added grilled shrimp to it. Lemongrass is in Eagle Rock and probably a touch more pricey than in the San Gabriel Valley but the quality is still pretty good. And because I don’t want to drive all the way to the SGV for a bowl of bun mi sometimes, Lemongrass is a good alternative.

At Ramenya in West LA, I usually order the tenshin men which is a shrimp omelette over ramen. I add the spinach to it. I have gotten many of their other ramens before and despite my non-egg loving ways, I find myself returning to this particular ramen over and over. I just love it. The omelette covers almost the entire circumference of the soup bowl.
