Fall Offerings at Rush Street
I was invited to Rush Street to check out their new Fall menu. I am generally more of a Summer person than Fall but I love the fashion of Fall. And lately, I’ve been enjoying Fall foods. I’m drawn to pumpkin this, squash that and Thanksgiving is nearly upon us with its cornucopia of offerings.
After starting with a pumpkin martini, we delved into an array of appetizers.
The butternut squash soup was on the sweeter side. It reminded me of wild honey but the chef said it was actually brown sugar. The lamb chops were an excellent meaty way to start the night. The banh mi sliders would make a great bar snack. They were salty and reminded me more of pulled pork.
I had a taste of the pumpkin ravioli. Like the soup, it was on the sweeter side. I can only imagine the pumpkin pie is going to be great. I’ve now had the mac and cheese several times. It’s a bubbling beauty.
Also new for Fall is the seafood paella. It came out looking more like a seafood stew on top of a little rice cake. Fine by me as I love seafood.
And we had pumpkin pie and sticky toffee cake to end the meal. And apparently I assumed incorrectly about the pie. It actually wasn’t overly sweet. Perfect! Find yourself eight forks because this sticky toffee cake is serious business. You’ll want to share (or maybe not) this cake.
This meal was during the Culver City Block Party which is every third Wednesday of the month. Rush Street was offering a special menu that night. Three courses for only $19. Check next month to see what the deals are for Downtown Culver.
