SF: Citizen Cake
After our seafood lunch at Tadich Grill, we went to walk around Pacific Heights. At some point we decided to duck into Citizen Cake for tea and dessert. You could order at the patisserie and take your order to go or have a seat at the coffee counter or at one of the few cute tables. We decided to sit at the coffee bar which also served wine.
I was originally supposed to check out Chef Elizabeth Falkner’s Orson restaurant but those plans fell through. I’m glad I got a chance to have dessert at her cute Citizen Cake shop. They do serve lunch and dinner at Citizen Cake along with brunch on weekends.
Carina ordered the Love Letter which was a rose-soaked vanilla chiffon cake with raspberry mousse and black pepper injection. It was a little bit sweet, a little bit spicy.
I had the Peanut Butter Banana tart. It featured creamy chocolate sable, roasted banana cream, peanut butter mousse and a chocolate glaze. I was rather pleased with my choice. I decided to order a chai latte to go with. I had fully intended to get regular milk but soy slipped out. It was good though a bit odd it was served on the side and you add it to the cup with the soy froth.
What a fun place to hang out for a sweet bite.
