DTLA: Day Drinking at YXTA
Yxta has been on my list of Downtown Los Angeles restaurants and bars I needed to visit but it’s not quite walking distance to anything. Luckily they have their own parking lot. I found myself there recently before a long weekend. They stay open in between lunch and dinner and there were quite a few tables of people having a late lunch. And we weren’t the only ones at the bar.
We were immediately given warm chips and great salsa while we decided what to get.
My friend had the spiked horchata. It wasn’t on the menu but they happily made it for her. She got it with vodka but I think rum would be equally as nice.
I ordered the New Fashioned with mezcal. It’s basically an old fashioned cocktail with mezcal.
I wish I had been hungry because their al pastor looked awesome. I could see the spit from the bar. I just might have to go for brunch one day.
