Santa Anita Park: Cheering On California Chrome to the Triple Crown!

I was at Santa Anita Park when thoroughbred horse California Chrome won the Kentucky Derby. He later went on to win the Preakness Stakes a week later. Tomorrow he will win the Triple Crown if he wins at the Belmont Stakes. No horse has won the Triple Crown title since 1978.
For those of us who can’t travel to Belmont Stakes, a great place to watch the race is at Santa Anita. There are a few different ways to cheer on our local horse. I like the Chandelier Room. Santa Anita plans to turn it into a members only club but during this introductory period, you can buy tickets into the Chandelier Room for only $75 which includes your guest (so that’s 2 admissions) as well as valet. Or book a table ($300 food and beverage minimum) which includes 2 admissions and valet. The food is by Chef Christian Page (formerly Short Order) and cocktails are by Paul Sanguinetti.

After the Belmont Stakes, there are still a few weekends left in June to experience the Chandelier Room. It’s best to book your tickets in advance. General admission and club house sales are available the day of events.
