Walnut Creek: Vietnamese Food at Pho Huynh Hiep
Pho Huynh Hiep or better known as Kevin’s Noodle House is making a killing in the Bay Area. I recently went to the Walnut Creek location. I’ve been to one of the ones in San Francisco before but the Walnut Creek one is very modern.
We got an order of egg rolls to share. I was slightly confused by the almost shredded iceberg lettuce on the side. I suppose their customers want more of a salad than large pieces of lettuce to wrap the egg rolls in. I prefer to wrap my egg rolls with lettuce and herbs, the traditional way of eating Vietnamese egg rolls. Ah well.
For my bowl of noodles, I opted for the pho dac biet bo vien. I tend to go with dac biet which has a little of everything. This one emphasized beef meatballs (bo vien) which was great. Plus there was plenty of trip and rare brisket to keep me happy. The broth was good and I do recommend this shop when in the Walnut Creek/ Lafayette area. Or even up in SF proper.
