DineLA Returns January 19 – February 1

DineLA returns for two weeks from January 19 through February 1. This is a great time to check out new restaurants such as Izakaya Akatora in Alhambra where lunch is only $15 and dinner is $30. Or old faves like Hostaria del Piccolo in Venice or Santa Monica, they’re also doing $15 /lunch and $30/ dinner. Other restaurants are featuring $25 / lunch and/or $40 or 50/ dinner menus.
I’ve also got my eye on Jiraffe which oddly I’ve never been to but enjoyed their dish at a preview for last year’s dineLA. I think it’ll also be very fun to go back to a kitchy spot like The Stinking Rose. I’m curious about Gravlax in Culver City. The Scandinavian and Turkish food combo sounds so cool. They’re doing a $30 dinner (no lunch).
For Downtown, the new Bistro Mizu at LA Live sounds like a great sushi lunch for only $20 ($30/dinner). I’d also like to go to nearby neighbor Ford’s Filling Station to check out the new digs.
My pick for Hollywood is Acabar – more on that later but here are some pics of dishes they’ll be serving for dineLA. My longtime favorite dineLA restaurant is Lukshon. They haven’t posted their menu yet but here’s a look back at a previous dineLA meal they had.
