SGV: Toast at Tea Station
Generally after a meal, I might stop off somewhere for a drink. And in the San Gabriel Valley, a popular spot might be the boba place around the corner. Asian dessert joints have sprang up all around the SGV but it’s nice to see old-school Tea Station (the chain started in the mid 90s) is still very popular with teenagers and gruff uncles alike. I saw teens playing Cards Against Humanity while the older guys were playing more traditional Chinese card games.
I went for the boba milk tea which came out in a mini-soup bowl. I really don’t know how anyone can drink all of that in one sitting but I suppose there are some who don’t like to sleep. I appreciated the value though! And the boba were nicely chewy-tender.
Tea Station has a variety of toast including a savory one. My friend made a beeline for the condensed milk toast which I liked quite a bit.
However I found my peanut butter toast to be quite dry. Throw some jelly on that! Or better yet, get a side of condensed milk for a mere $.75 cents.
The taro milk tea is also great. I might be tempted to come back for a light lunch but this place is really best for what it’s know for – tea and snacks.
