Las Vegas: Steak and Seafood at Mon Ami Gabi
Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas is a staple on the Vegas Strip. Yet I’ve never been. A friend suggested it was a great place to grab a bite while catching the water fountain show at Bellagio across the street. Unfortunately, the show was dark while we were there but it was still a nice patio to enjoy our meal.
We started out with the shrimp cocktail. I found it fascinating the shrimp were presented on a bed of ice much like oysters would instead of in a massive glass. These were pristine and were gone all too quickly.
Next we had baked scallops which as you can imagine was good fuel after a long day of walking around Vegas.
Unlike people who get plain salads as their starter, the table decided to share a salmon salad. It was great because we each bot a bit of spinach and fish.
But everyone got individual steaks. No one can come between me and ribeye! I thought the steak was cooked very well but it did have a lot of gristle. I spent a lot of time cleaning the meat before I could eat each bite.
For sides, we got the mac and cheese, mushrooms and green beans. All were the best part of the meal.
I particularly liked the mushrooms of which there were a variety.
There could have been a few more green beans but they were cooked well. They had a good crunch and nice seasoning.
Overall, I probably would return but maybe on a night when the Bellagio fountains are running.
