Art Beyond the Glass 2015 is Sunday, June 28 at General Lee’s in Chinatown

 

The Fourth Annual Art Beyond the Glass heads to a new location Sunday, June 28. This year’s ABTG will be held at General Lee’s in Chinatown. Art Beyond the Glass showcases local bartender talents that include music, art, photography and more. Part of the proceeds will benefit public radio station, KCRW and its capital campaign to build a new building. It’ll house the station and will become a public gather place as well.

Tickets are now on sale. Tickets must be purchased in advance as there will be no sales at the door.

 

Dan “The Imbiber” Dunn returns as emcee along with these first time participants: Aaron Alvarez (Big Bar), Cappy Sorentino (Hatchet Hall), Dan Sabo (Ace Hotel), Daniel Eun (The Normandie Club), Garrett Mikell (Eveleigh), Gina Maria Allen (Artisan House), Katie Emmerson (Walker Inn), Marie King (Tonga Hut), Melaney Schmidt (The Standard DTLA), Ryan Wainwright (Terrine) and  Vincenzo Marianella (Copa d’Oro).

Bartenders returning to this year’s ABTG include: Alex Straus (EP/LP), Anna Knudson (Sassafras Saloon), Beau Du Bois (The Corner Door), Brian Butler (Sunny Spot), Chris Amirault (Harlowe), Christine Wiseman (Break Room 86), Dave Fernie (Honeycut), Dino Balocchi (Melrose Umbrella Co.), Giovanni Martinez (Sadie), Greg Bryson (The Wallace), Jeremy Lake (Lost Property), Julian Cox (Soigné Group), Justin Pike (The Tasting Kitchen), Karen Grill (Sassafras Saloon), Kelly Merrell (Trader Sam’s), Kiowa Bryan (Eveleigh) and Una Green (Belcampo Meat Co.).

Besides the great entertainment, look for the auction items and door prizes.

 

Some high-bid auction items in the past include photography and a bitters set from Miracle Mile Bitters.

 

 

So what does your $60 ticket get you? FUN. Imagine all your favorite LA bartenders in one room DJing, singing, dancing, serving some wonderful cocktails in the kitschy glory that is Chinatown.
