DTLA: DineLA Recap at 10e
I recently went to 10e in Downtown Los Angeles for dineLA lunch. We went on the later side and had almost all of the restaurant to ourselves. I sat at the bar the last time I was there for happy hour so it was nice to check out the eclectic table settings and tall ceilings.
With the delicious puffy pita bread, we were served a balsamic vinegar and oil mix with a delicious bit of cheese and roasted tomatoes.
10e’s dineLA meal did not include dessert during lunch but that’s okay. I started with the stuffed grapeleaves or dolmas. These were very interesting and didn’t seem like grapeleaves at all.
We also got the hummus and eggplant dip as part of the first course. As usual, I enjoyed both but 10e’s eggplant was really good and may have a slight edge in the hummus-eggplant dip race in my head.
My friend had the falafel for lunch while I opted for the lamb burger. She built her own falafel sandwich by combining the falafel and salad into a pita.
The lamb burger came out with the most delicious potatoes that resembled breakfast potatoes but came with that awesome cheese. I liked that the lamb was cooked about medium and came with lots of lettuce and thick slices of tomatoes. It’s my kind of burger. Even the bun was a soft bun that’s perfect for soaking up the condiments and burger juices.
I’m interested in coming back for a full dinner now. What a great new restaurant near the 7th Street Metro stop in DTLA.
