Melrose: Chirashi Bowls at Murakami Sushi
No. 7 bowl
Recently I was looking for a sushi spot near Hancock Park and came across Murakami Sushi. They’re best known for their build-your-own-chirashi bowls. Or they have a list of their favorite combinations. I opted to go with the Number 7 which includes pretty much all my favorites including yellowtail, salmon, tuna, crab, eel, shrimp, albacore, scallops and avocado. Gotta have that avocado!
The small bowl was overflowing with fish. My favorite turned out to be the shrimp and crab.

I also got a side salad which I normally wouldn’t even mention but it was more like a full sized salad for only $2.50 more. And I loved the nutty dressing.
Murakami turned out to be a good choice for a casual lunch. I’d like to go back to customize my own chirashi bowl or sit at the counter for some sushi. The nigiri looked pretty good.
