Koreatown: Late Night Happy Hour at the Backhouse

oysters
I love finding a good late night happy hour. The Backhouse in Koreatown serves up $1 oysters, cheap yakitori and sushi including hand rolls.
We were in between hunger and “not eating until breakfast in the morning” which basically means we wanted a snack. Finding the Backhouse has $1 oysters was just the perfect light meal.

foie gras and spicy yellowtail hand rolls
But we couldn’t resist the foie gras hand roll which sadly wasn’t on happy hour special but still a pretty decent deal at $10. However the spicy yellowtail hand rolls were and there were at least 5 other choices to choose from. I liked the spicy yellowtail and would try the salmon next time.

various yakitori
The real hunger killer though were the yakitori. With five different categories, I just picked something from each including the bacon-wrapped okra, beef tongue, gizzards, sausage and miso eggplant. My favorites were the okra and sausage which tasted just like breakfast sausage.
So the next time you’re in Ktown and don’t want KBBQ, check out this Japanese-style gem.
