Glendale: Poke, Lobster Ramen and Duck Fat Tater Tots at K Ramen

albacore poke
I recently checked out K Ramen Burger Beer at the Americana in Glendale. It’s upstairs from Katsuya and serves as the name says ramen, burgers and beer. I went for Dine LA and was surprised how generous their deal was. For $29 (dinner), we got three courses as well as duck fat fried tater tots and a drink.
For the first course, you had a choice of albacore poke, snapper poke with kale salad or crispy chicken salad. My group opted for the two pokes. I liked my snapper and kale poke but I tend to lean towards anything with kale. The two that had the albacore liked the mango and macadamia nuts though it was almost too crunchy in comparison to the delicate albacore.

duck fat fried tater tots
I actually don’t think we were supposed to get the tots (or fries) as we ordered the ramen and those sides went with the burgers but we didn’t argue. The tots were really nicely fried and not greasy at all.

lobster ramen
The lobster ramen was surprisingly spicy. I thought they were generous in giving the whole egg with the noodles.

tonkotsu ramen
I ordered the tonkotsu pork ramen. I found it pretty salty but I’m glad for option for ramen at the Americana. My favorite ramen place in Glendale is still Kanpai.

pint of Coolhaus
They only had banana foster ice cream left for dessert. Everyone got their own pints of Coolhaus which I thought was really generous. We ended up opening two and sharing while the others took their pints home.
Come for the ramen, stay for the tots. My friend said I have to check out their burgers next time. Maybe!
