Whisky Extravaganza Comes to DTLA On November 16

 

Whisky Extravaganza comes to the Millennium Biltmore Hotel on Thursday, November 16. The four-hour whisky tasting begins at 7:30 p.m. (registration opens at 6:30 p.m.). There are also several interesting masterclasses being offered that evening including Beauty and the Beast with Glenmorangie and Ardbeg, Maturity Not Age with the John Milroy Selection and Every Whiskey Has a Story with Joanne Haruta (Lost Spirits Distillery), Litty Matthew (Greenbar Distillery), Carin Luna-Ostaseski (SIA Scotch). This panel is moderated by Women Who Whiskey LA Chapter President Kim Ohanneson and participants to this panel also receive a NEAT spirits glass.

There are a couple of ticket options. The general admission is $150 or if you reserve a table for 8 or more, the price drops down to $135 (10% discount). The ticket includes tastings, a souvenir glass and access to masterclasses with prior registration. A meal is included and there’s a kosher option.

 

 

Some of the exhibitors include The John Milroy Selection (I’m very interested in their bottling of Bunnahabhain 1987), The Classic Cask (I’ll have to compare their bottling of Bunnahabhain 1989 to the 1987 from TJMS), Glen Moray (look for the very limited 25 Year), Glenmorangie, Ardbeg, Benromach, Blackadder, BenRiach, Glenglassaugh and more. Bacardi brings their whisky collection as well including Aultmore, The Deveron, Royal Brackla and more. Look for Lady of The Glen and Amrut at the Glass Revolution table (hint, find the Blackadder and you’ve found them!). Beam Suntory, Anchor Distilling, Koval as well as local distilleries Greenbar and Lost Spirits will also be pouring.
