Koreatown: For the Record Presents The Brat Pack at Break Room 86 Until June 9
I have seen many of their shows but I always love it when they do the 80s show which is slightly different at every venue they’ve performed at. The Brat Pack is an amalgam of all the best John Hughes movies including Pretty in Pink, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Weird Science and of course the classic, The Breakfast Club. There are also songs from non-John Hughes movies but are also as iconic.
The Brat Pack at Break Room 86 is just so perfect. The 80s themed speakeasy hardly needed to be transformed. And getting an 80s themed lunchbox plus drinks was even more fun.
The lunchbox included Twinkies, Cheetos, a spiked Capri Sun and a peanut butter and jelly.
I had to laugh when I got my drink because I invariably will pick some sort of Manhattan or Old Fashioned whiskey cocktail variation. And though I mostly picked Bueller, Bueller for the name, I got my perfect drink. My friend had the Pretty in Grapefruit which was an easy sipper.
Pretty in Grapefruit – vodka, pink grapefruit, apricot, citrus, Peychaud’s bitters
Bueller, Bueller – rye whiskey, amaro, vanilla, orange oil, cherry bark bitters
The show runs most weekends Thursday through Saturday. Check the listings and I might just see you there!
Now until June 9
