Santa Monica: Lanea Cocktail and Taco Bar introduces Picnic Packs and Canned Cocktails

 

 

Lanea just celebrated their one-year-anniversary. I made it to the Santa Monica bar back in February and recently got delivery.

There are many delivery options on their site but you can also order to pick up as well. Plus is a new outdoor seating area if you eat there. Bonus, Lanea is doing all day happy hour on drinks and tacos these days.

For delivery, I got the picnic pack which includes two drinks, six tacos, pico de gallo and chips. I loved that this came with a Mexican blanket! It’s so soft and just delightful.

My favorite tacos were the barbacoa and carne asada.

 

 

I miss the days when I can hop to a bar. I miss chatting with the bartender, listening to live music, checking out the back bar to see what I haven’t tried before. Lanea has a huge mezcal collection that’s 400+ bottles strong.

In addition to canned cocktails, Lanea also has frozen drinks and limited edition flasks. If you eat outside, I’d go with the frozen drinks since it’s been so hot lately.

 

 

When I first checked out Lanea, I immediately wanted to try the banana drink but vodka…. ? Eventually, I convinced myself it was okay since everything else sounded delicious! And it was.

The other drink I tried was the Man Overboard. I knew from reading the ingredients, I would love it! Mezcal? Check. Grapefruit? Check. And it was a grapefruit oleo saccharum which is essentially grapefruit peels in sugar and taking the delicious infused thick syrup. But it goes on… Brualio! Yes, one of my favorite amari.

I hope these two drinks get offered soon for their cocktails to go. I loved them so much. But Lanea does have some other great drinks. The canned margarita and paloma I tried were great. And I see they’re planning to do mezcal flights.
