Las Vegas: Checking Out the Drinks at the Golden Tiki
I love tiki bars so of course I had to check out the new Golden Tiki in Las Vegas on my last trip. It’s open 24 hours (!!!) but we decided to go for drinks before dinner one night. The decor reminds me of a pirates’ hangout so it feels a bit more daring than the usual cheerful tiki bar.
I asked to see what tiki mugs were for sale. I opted to buy the lightning bolt one, affectionately known as the David Bowie of mugs. The drinks are $11 but if you buy the mug, it’s $29.
We went a bit nuts over what drinks to order. There were so many interesting sounding ones. My friend got the Banana Batida which everyone agreed was the favorite of the night.

At the Golden Tiki, they do have barrel-aged cocktails and the current one features rhum agricole. It reminds me of a rum old fashioned.
Do you like pina coladas? Then you’ll love Painkillers. It’s like a pina colada but with orange juice as well as the usual pineapple juice. At Golden Tiki, they go even further and add Dole pineapple whip.

Be sure to stop by the back to take a picture on the clam shell bench and check out the back room. It’d be a fun place to have a party.
