Foodie Alert- The Four Day Weekend
Last weekend may have been a foodie’s beautiful dream with not one but two big food festivals along with the LA County Fair opening but what about this weekend? Have no fear, my Minty minions, I have a round-up for you!

FilAmARTS kicks off the Festival of Philippine Art & Culture tonight at Oinkster. The Manila Machine will also be celebrating tonight. Tickets are $50 and includes food from both Oinkster and the Manila Machine. Beer will also be available for purchase.

- Josh Goldman Guests Bartends at District
For my cocktalians, Josh Goldman is beginning his guest stint at District tonight. Josh is Michael Voltaggio’s righthand bar man (aka the sommelier at MVolt’s upcoming spot) and you may have recently tried some of his cocktails at Test Kitchen. He’s bringing those and more Thursday through Saturday for the next few weeks.

- Magnolia Bakery Popup at Fred Segal
For my sweet-toothed fashionistas, Magnolia Bakery brings a pop-up to Fred Segal for Fashion Night Out. Magnolia is creating a special cupcake, a Devil’s Food (chocolate with meringue frosting) for the night as well as bringing other goodies. Proceeds benefit City of Hope.

- The Search for the Legendary Sun Fruit of Shangri-La
The Culinary Historians of Southern California present a lecture about citron at the Los Angeles Central Library. David Karp, a citrus researcher from UC Riverside will recount his tales from around the world. It’s a free program!

- $25 Scotch Tasting
The Angel Shares Scotch Happy Hour is Saturdays at Saint and Sinners. For $25, you get to taste 3 high-end Scotches with Scotch aficionado Sir Ian Dangerous (is that his DJ name?). There is a live DJ spinning an eclectic set that promises to “singe your pre-frontal lobes” or so they claim.

Chicks with Knives present a popup with pickles at Starry Kitchen! The $5 door fee ($1 for children under 12) includes a pickle martini, small bites and the opportunity to shop for unique pickles. You can also pick up pickling spice kits if you want to make pickles at home.
