Drink Pink at Fleming’s
Last week, I attended the last “Opening Night” wine tasting at Fleming’s. During the month of September, they were exploring all the wines available by the glass. Each tasting featured 20 different wines. Last week had a lot of chardonnays and pinot noirs on the list. The event was more than generous. I tried 14 of the 20 offered wines. At $25 pop, it was an inexpensive way to learn what you liked or didn’t.
My picks were the opening glass of moscato from Il Conte D’alba. I also enjoyed the chardonnay from Cakebread and the syrah from Krupp Brothers.
This month, Fleming’s has a couple of cool events going on. During happy hour (5-7 p.m. weekdays), you can buy the Stoli Bombshell, a cocktail created for National Breast Cancer Awareness month. The raspberry and vanilla vodka cocktail is only 99 calories and $6. 100% of the proceeds of this cocktail goes towards Avon Breast Cancer Crusade.
If you miss happy hour, you can still order the cocktail at full price. But I wouldn’t miss happy hour. The 5 for 6 to 7 deal is great. Five cocktails, 5 wines and 5 apps for $6 until 7 p.m.!
To continue honoring National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Fleming’s will have Women & Wine Dinners. The four-course dinners are paired by Fleming’s Wine Director Marian Jansen op de Haar.
