West Hollywood: Lunch at Fig & Olive
Fig & Olive opened for lunch on the first day of Spring. When we arrived, the restaurant was buzzing with most of the tables occupied. Natural light streamed all around the dining room.
We started with a set of 6 crostini. I had tasted some of these at one of the opening parties and remembered the shrimp fondly.
After some time passed between our appetizers and entrees, I started wondering if I had become a lady who lunched. Sure, I recently had lunch at Providence where 2-hour lunches were the norm but this particular day, I had to get back to Downtown so I was a bit anxious. Then our food arrived and I wasted no time snarfing down some salad and a bit of my friend’s lamb panini.
As expected, our food was good. We didn’t have time for dessert (our server finally inquired if we were on our lunch hour— by this time it was nearly 2 hours later).
Pros: beautiful restaurant, people watching, tasty nosh
Cons: slow for lunch
I’ll just have to come back when I have more time for dinner and a cocktail.

The way you took the picture makes the lamb panini look gigantic 🙂

Hah, yeah, it was difficult to take the pic since it was across the table. I did crop out the potatoes and salad next to the sandwich. Could have been point of reference.
