Ladies’ Night at Michael’s Santa Monica
Jaymee Mandeville of Drago Centro and Cassie Sealing of Red Medicine guest bartended at Michael’s Santa Monica a couple of weeks ago as part of Michael’s guest mixology series.
Jaymee created two cocktails; A Rose by Any Other Name and Walking on Sunshine. Cassie also created two cocktails; Bella Flore and hum-Dimmi of a Mojito. The evening featured spirits by Dimmi Liquore di Milano and hum Botanical Spirit.
· A Rose By Any Other Name – hum, White Rum, Velvet Falernum, Homemade Rose Water, Fresh Lime, Angostura Bitters, Fresh Rose Petals
· Walking on Sunshine – Dimmi, Gin, Homemade Chamomile Syrup, Fresh Meyer Lemon
· Bella Flore – Dimmi, Pisco, Elderflower, Fresh Orange, Lime, Topped with Soda
· Hum-Dimmi of a Mojito – hum, Dimmi, Ginger Beer, Fresh Strawberry, Basil, Lemon
We also enjoyed a complimentary punch mixed up by Adam Seger who created hum Botanical. Michael’s mixologist Jason Robey who heads up Michaels “farm to glass” was also on hand this evening.

I neglected to get a picture of the A Rose by Any Other Name but I had a sip of someone’s and it was quite nice. My favorite this evening was the punch and Jaymee’s Walking on Sunshine.
We of course couldn’t leave without a few nibbles.
Unfortunately they were out of the yellowtail crudo but the ahi tuna poke was great. My favorite was the maitake spring rolls. We ended up having to get two orders because they were so good. I liked how the sliders are now a set of three (they added pulled pork) from the first time I visited and I though these buns held up better than the Hawaiian rolls they used previously.
I’ll have to go back to try Jason’s drinks but I’m glad the ladies night was such a success!
