Las Vegas: Lunch at Joe’s Steak and Stone Crab
Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab in Las Vegas is a consistent favorite of mine although I hadn’t gone in years. I am almost certain the last time I had stone crab was when I was in Miami and went to the original Joe’s (well, the take-out part).
We decided to drop in for lunch during my roadtrip with Acura’s ILX.
We started off with some oysters. My friend enjoyed the Kushi oysters from Estiatorio Milos so much the night before, we decided to try them at Joe’s. While I like the mignonette at Milos more, these weren’t bad. The shallots could have been more finally minced. I loved the little tiny bottle of Tabasco.
And there’s nothing like an old school steakhouse bread basket.
We had to have more seafood in the form of the Second Mortgage which included one stone crab claw, lobster and shrimp. I got the claw as my friend ordered a stone crab meal for her lunch (not shown).
For my meal, I misjudged my hunger and got the steak and mushroom sandwich which came with warm au jus to dip. I ate about half of it before I started thinking walking the entire Strip would be a good idea to burn the calories off (instead of I checked out the nearby Forum Shops at Caesar’s– the walking helped!).
I would recommend the lunch special which includes a half slice of pie, the Second Mortgage and making reservations. The restaurant filled up after we got there.
