DTLA: Pistachio Grilled Cheese at Bar Mitzvah

Classified as a “sports bar,” Bar Mitzvah does have vintage sports uniforms, equipment and memorabilia on the walls but I would hardly call it a sports bar. The entrance is off 5th Street in Downtown Los Angeles and this is also the new entrance for the Gorbals.

Bar Mitzvah features the same great happy hour at the Gorbals. I opted to have (a lot) of whiskey on the rocks and we got some food as well. The broccoli (not shown) was an insane portion. The banh mi poutine is great as always.

It would be really amusing to me if there was an actual bar (or bat) mitzvah here every night. But you’ll probably just have to entertain yourself with the games shown on the big screen TVs.

 

The winner of the happy hour menu turned out to be the pistachio grilled cheese.

It may be time for happy hour again!
