Beverly Hills: Late Night Salad and Dessert at South Beverly Grill
I was in Beverly Hills recently looking for dinner past 10 p.m. A search didn’t turn up very much but I decided to go with instinct and turned just south of Wilshire on Beverly. I figure I’d find something. And I did! But unfortunately Honor Bar was packed to the gills so we turned to its sister restaurant, the very honestly named South Beverly Grill right next door. South Beverly Grill is a dark and sexy place, perhaps drinks at the bar to start next time.
Since it was now nearly 11 p.m., I decided on something light. I debated the sushi nigiri sampler but opted for a salad. The Thai steak salad with noodles and mango sounded really good. The steak was well-marinated and cooked. I really liked everything about it except the noodles which seemed slightly stale. Otherwise, it was a good portion and I’d get this again.
My friend got the brownie sundae which has a ton of nuts– it’s topped with nuts and it’s also in the brownie itself so avoid if you don’t like nuts and I don’t mean the crazies.
I’ll have to return to Honor Bar one day to check out their much-talked about fried chicken sandwich.(310) 550-0242 © The Minty 2016
