DTLA: Pacific Seas Tiki Bar at Clifton’s is Now Open

There’s a boat at the bar!
The much anticipated tiki bar, Pacific Seas, is now open at Clifton’s. The fourth floor bar is completely bonkers. It’s so beautiful and what’s amazing is, it doesn’t look new at all. For those familiar with the decor of Clifton’s, it’s not a surprise how much attention to detail went into the space. Heck, there’s even a boat in the middle of the bar. The DJ hangs out there, natch.

I was told the drinks menu was a collaborative effort. I sampled three of the drinks on offer during the media preview.

Pacific Seas
We tried the daiquiri, Mai Tai and Singapore sling.

Mai Tai
The daiquiri was probably my favorite of the trio. Of all the tiki drinks in the world though, I tend to go for Mai Tais first. Pacific Seas served theirs in a very cool glass.

Singapore Sling
Slings can be sweet sometimes so to combat that, I like it a bit boozier, especially when crushed ice drinks can rapidly dilute your drink.
Now who can spot the tiki items from old tiki bars? There’s a lot of history in that place. When I was a little girl going to Clifton’s every other week, I never imagine some day I’d be drinking daiquiris on the top floor.
