DTLA: Pupusas at Sarita’s at Grand Central Market

I love pupusas. Recently I had a craving for them and headed over to Sarita’s at Grand Central Market. I hadn’t been there in a while. There are always so many new spots to try at GCM that sometimes I forget about the long time vendors.

I decided to get only two pupusas since I have a tendency to have eyes bigger than my stomach. I tend to get lorocco (wild herb) and cheese and then revuelta (meat, beans and cheese) or chicharrone (pork). Sarita’s does have some other stuffings I don’t commonly see at other pupusa spots such as mushroom and shrimp.

I liked my pupusas though I found them unevenly shaped and slightly burnt. But under a pile of curtido (cabbage slaw), I was very happy. I even got to sit at the counter where a scene from the movie La La Land was filmed.

Sarita’s is definitely not a bad lunch time move.
