Orlando: Cuban Lunch at Padrino’s

appetizer sampler
On my last day in Orlando, we stopped into Padrino’s Cuban Bistro for lunch. I hadn’t made it down to Miami this year and was jonesing for some good Cuban food. Padrino’s has several locations through out the state of Florida.
We had the appetizer sampler called the Combinacion Cubana to start. It came with tostones, empanadas and ham croquettes. My favorite of the three were the empanadas.

vaca fritta
My friend had the vaca fritta which she declared how can it not be good as it’s fried steak. It was a lot of meat!

lechon asado
I was in the mood for mojo, the citrusy sauce I love in Cuban food. I got the lechon asado which was a huge portion and really too much for me for lunch. And I almost thought I should get a cubano sandwich to go! The mojo in the lechon asado was very nice and not overly tart.
Some people like to travel with a light stomach but apparently I like to protein-up and sleep on planes.
