Orlando: The Minty’s Mini Bar Crawl
Drinks at The Guesthouse
I was back in Orlando earlier this year for Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA). It alternates between Orlando and Las Vegas. I find it a cool challenge to check out the latest and greatest but also fun to revisit some earlier faves.
After dinner at Black Rooster Taqueria, we hopped next door to The Guesthouse. The larger bar had a cool mid century / Palm Springs (or I guess Florida)/ mod feel. My friends decided to get Aperol Spritzes and I had an Army Navy (gin, orgeat, lemon).

Dirty Laundry
After dinner at Pho 88, we wandered up the street to Dirty Laundry. It’s a cute outdoor bar though there seems to be a bar inside the house. I had their mai tai variation. We listened to some music before we hit our next spot.

Herman’s Loan Office
A few years ago I checked out Hansen’s Shoe Repair and now the same bar group has opened Herman’s Loan Office also in Downtown Orlando. I immediately liked the vibe of the place. We had a great time talking to our bartender. I opted for the Euro-Step while my friend had a hankering for a Paper Plane.

The Woods
The first year I went to Orlando, I went bar hopping in Downtown Orlando. I encountered the first craft cocktail bars including the Woods. On subsequent trips, I always tried to swing by the Woods as it’s my favorite bar in Orlando.
We had a nice time chatting with the owner about Orlando’s rapidly growing craft cocktail scene. I’m glad that not only did they hang in there, they’re thriving. Until next time, Orlando! I’ll be back.
