Hollywood: Drinks and Live Music at Tramp Stamp Granny’s

Tramp Stamp Granny’s

I read about Tramp Stamp Granny’s a few months ago and wanted to check it out. I love piano bars and thought it’d be fun. The bar is the old Grampa Johnson’s which was the old Beauty Bar.

You can still see traces of the Grampa Johnson’s bar in it which is cool because I loved that art deco look.

There’s a piano on the right as you walk in. They sing showtunes and if you’re lucky, you can sit at the piano. Otherwise there’s more seating along the wall facing the bar and next to the bar. That leaves a small area for dancing.

We were there on a Friday night. I thought it was unusual there was only one bartender for a busy night in Hollywood. And he was also training a bar back on how to make drinks. There wasn’t a cocktail list so I just ordered a Manhattan. I found it very funny it came with both a brandied cherry and a neon red (and huge!) maraschino cherry.

This bar has a lot of potential and I’d like to come back with friends who like singing show tunes and dancing.
