Studio City: Brunch and Cocktails at Gray Tavern

drinks at Gray Tavern

Studio City has a new brunch king! I checked out Gray Tavern recently for breakfast-lunch otherwise known as brunch. And it’s definitely brunch because there were drinks involved.

I’ve been super into Empress Gin lately. I love that it changes color as the gin has butterfly pea blossom as one of the botanicals in the gin. Get the Lavender Fields Forever for the most Instagram-worthy drink! We also enjoyed the Cafe Con Coco for a little caffeine pick-me-up.

Lavender Fields Forever – Empress gin, Creme Yvette, housemade lavender liqueur, elderflower rinse, blackberry, egg white, lemon, lavender bitters

Cafe Con Coco – Rum Haven coconut rum, Mr. Black coffee liqueur, cold brew coffee, brown sugar syrup, egg white

pork belly hash

With Kurobuta pork belly, the hash was my favorite dish at brunch. Really good components of crispy potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Plus, of course the fried egg ties it all together.

more drinks!

Gray Tavern just launched some new drinks including the BeauTEAful and Cherry Poppins. While I’m not an every day coffee drinker, I do appreciate tea and Earl Grey is my favorite tea. This is a nice one with rye whiskey. I also really loved the Cherry Poppins. It’s so much fun with the Red Vines “straw.”

BeauTEAful – Earl Grey-infused Title 21 rye whiskey, lavender, lemon, lavender-Earl Grey foam

Cherry Poppins – Maker’s Mark bourbon, Cherry Herring, pomegranate, Coco Cola reduction syrup, Coco Cola, Red Vines “straw”

chicken and waffles

Oh, it must have been 25 years ago or possibly more (shhh! A lady never tells you her age) that I first had chicken and waffles. I liked the gravy used for the chicken. It has espresso. My goodness, I was quite wired after the caffeinated cocktails and now food.

The chicken was great because it’s boneless. Who has time to deal with bones at a boozy brunch?

stuffed French toast

Years ago I started subscribing sweet breakfast items would make a GREAT dessert! So we had the stuffed French toast for dessert. Ah, it was really good with caramelized banana and cheesecake batter!

I’d love to come back for dessert. I’ve been spying some seafood items that look great.
