Culver City: Drinks at Simonette inside the Palihotel

Soyeaux

Last week I checked out Simonette over at the Palihotel Culver City.

It’s a cute hotel lobby bar that serves food all day. There’s an outside patio as well. We grabbed the last two seats at the attractive bar.

I had to get the Soyeaux as I love all the ingredients and I’m passionate about Cynar. It turns out it’s a neo-tiki drink that fittingly is in a Cynar tiki mug.

Soyeaux – Jamaican rum, calvados, Cynar, passion fruit, orgeat, lime, Angostura bitters

Joie Division

I was originally looking at Little 15 with pink peppercone but was advised to try Joie Division if I liked spicy drinks. This drink was the right amount of spice. I like the Mexican elements of mezcal, Damiana and jalepeno. It feels very much like a LA drink.

Joie Division – Ford’s gin, mezcal, Damiana liqueur, blackberry, pineapple, lavender, jalepeno

Marquee Moon

We weren’t going to get the Marquee Moon (my friend started out with wine) but we very much enjoyed the smoked cocktails and show. If you like Manhattans and/or Old Fashioneds, you’ll have to try this spin with Montenegro.

Marquee Moon – Rittenhouse 100 rye, Amaro Montenegro, maple, walnut bitters, smoke

I’ll be back to try the food!
