Westwood: Burger at the Audrey at The Hammer Museum

The Audrey is so beautiful. It may be my new favorite restaurant design. I have always liked 60s retro mod restaurants (think Googie and more). Audrey is the sophisticated version of that design. It fits right in in the courtyard of the Hammer Museum in Westwood.
The menu reads of New American classics such as the burger but you’ll also find touches of other culinary traditions with a twist. Perhaps the miso eggplant sandwich might intrigue you or I was eyeing the side of peas to go with a soup.
In the end I opted for the burger that was one of the heavier options. I liked that the menu moved from lighter fare to something that would stick to your ribs.
I loved the burger. It a little smaller than an average burger but much larger than a slider. The lettuce was so crisp! I adored the fact the fries came with it because so many places will charge extra for a side of fries (I’m looking at you Wally’s with your $9 fries– which I ruefully paid for a couple of weeks ago).
I am looking forward to trying other things on the menu or dinner soon. Brunch also sounds fun!
