Glendale: Armenian Flatbread Takeout from Zhengyalov Hatz

Zhengyalov Hatz opened last year in Glendale and I immediately had to go try it because I miss all the good food I had in Armenia. One of the particular things I missed the most was the herb-filled lavash I had Lavash Hovo.

 

Zhengyalov hatz is the name of the stuffed lavash. It is vegan unless you ask for butter. Many of the herbs are specially grown for the cheerful store. There are over a dozen herbs. I wish we could dine in these days but there are a few tables outside.

As a person who does eat meat, I don’t miss meat when I eat such filling and delicious vegetables. Plus these are very affordable.

Besides drinks, the only other thing on the menu is baklava. I’m not a sweets person but my friends enjoyed this.

 

I’m going to get a bunch of these next time and see how well they freeze. In the mean time, enjoy these piping hot!
