Revisiting the Must Bar

It’s been a few months since I last had the Must Bar‘s chicken pot pie. I suddenly had to have it again. I went over last night ostensibly for happy hour but the goal was the chicken pot pie.

I started with a glass of wine. There are so many interesting looking wines to try for happy hour that it’s hard to pick but I went with the Nero D’Avola.

I also wanted to see if I could take better shots this time around. Granted with the time change and sitting by the window helped quite a bit.

As usual, we ordered way too much food. But that’s why it’s called happy hour.

We weren’t intending on more food other than our entrees (cough, chicken pot pie) but then AK spotted the bacon jam. Oh sure, wave some bacon in front of us and we crumble like a house of cards.

Mighty Soy Helper

Ah, finally! The chicken pot pie. First thought- hey, wasn’t this supposed to be Humboldt Fog cheese? Hm, it’s just posted as chevre which I realize is also goat milk cheese. I guess I don’t have “name brand” cheese anymore. Maybe it’ll taste the same.

Wait, no, it’s thicker somehow but less exciting in flavor. The chicken also tasted boiled. Yet, there seems to be more of it. My biscuit was also a bit dry but solved with a dunking into the sauce.

My friend had the opposite problem. His soy helper was runny and not very thick. But the taste was there. I actually prefered his meal.

Sadly, this is no longer my favorite chicken pot pie but it’s still pretty good. And now I get to try other things on the menu without that internal battle of ordering something new or sticking to my once former fave, the chicken pot pie.
